At BBGM, we are deeply committed to teacher development in pursuit of our shared mission of educational excellence. Beyond our regular weekly training sessions, we dedicate two full Professional Development Days each school year when we bring the entire staff together to exchange insights, spark professional dialogue, and explore effective ways to enhance teaching practice and improve student outcomes. Last Friday marked one such enriching day, reaffirming our collective commitment to continuous growth and collaborative excellence. 

教师的专业成长是学生成功的根基。在深贝外，我们持续投入教师发展，矢志实现卓越教育的共同使命。为此，除每周定期开展专业培训外，每学年更专设两个职业发展日，让全体教师齐聚一堂，共同分享教学心得、碰撞专业智慧，携手探索提升教学效能、优化学生学习成果的有效路径。上周五，这样一个充实而富有成效的职业发展日如期而至，再次彰显了我们对持续精进与协作共荣的坚定承诺。 

The academic teams engaged in rich, focused discussions on a range of core topics: how to use visual tools to make abstract concepts more accessible for students; how to strengthen students' English proficiency to deepen their comprehension and engagement with classroom content; and how to respond thoughtfully to diverse learning needs through differentiated instruction. Ideas were shared, strategies were refined, and teachers left with sharpened approaches and renewed dedication to their craft. 
教学团队围绕多个核心议题展开深度研讨，探讨如何借助可视化手段将抽象概念化为学生触手可及的具象认知、如何有针对性地提升学生英语水平以加深其对课堂内容的理解、激发其参与热情，以及如何灵活应对差异化的学习需求、因材施教。思想在交流中碰撞，策略在研讨中淬炼，教师们不断优化教学方法，持续提升课堂实效，在追求卓越的道路上精益求精。 

The conversations didn't stop there; the academic team also stepped back to reflect on the broader arc of the past school year; celebrating achievements and examining areas for growth. Together, they mapped out a vision for the next phase: building a stronger sense of community where students are empowered to develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills that define tomorrow's leaders. 
研讨的视野并不止步于课堂。教学团队跳出具体的教学技巧，从更宏观的维度审视过去一学年的成就与不足，进而群策群力，共同擘画下一阶段的发展蓝图，致力于营造更加浓厚的学习氛围，打造更具凝聚力的学习社区，让每一位学子都能从中受益，逐步成长为具备批判性思维与问题解决能力的未来***。 

The boarding team held their own focused training session, centered on the deeper dimensions of student care. Through role-play scenarios and interactive discussion, dorm parents explored how to connect with students in more professional and empathetic ways, so as to help boarders build healthier habits and establish consistent, productive daily routines. 
与此同时，住宿部也开展了一场聚焦深层育人的专项培训。导师们通过情景模拟与互动研讨，深入探讨如何以更专业的姿态、更具同理心的方式走近学生，帮助住宿生优化行为习惯、养成良好的学习节律。 

A particular highlight of the day was the meaningful cross-team collaboration between the boarding and academic teams. Mr. Andrew Peterson, Vice Head of Upper School, walked dorm parents through the curriculum structure, the typical academic challenges, and what a student's school day actually looks like, so they can offer more targeted academic support during ESS and everyday conversations. Ms. Zoe Guan and Ms. Yanna Yue, our school counselors, shared insights into the social-emotional development of students at different ages, along with practical communication strategies, equipping dorm parents to better recognize shifts in students' moods, understand their unspoken needs, and walk alongside them with greater warmth and skill. 
而本次培训的的亮点在于住宿团队与教学团队之间实现了深度融合。中学部副主任 Mr. Andrew Peterson 细致梳理了各年级的课程体系、学生学习特点及常见学业挑战，帮助住宿导师全面理解学生白天的学习历程，以便在晚自习辅导与日常交流中能够更加精准地给予学业支持。心理健康教师 Ms. Zoe Guan 与 Ms. Yanna Yue 则分享了不同年龄段学生的心理特征与沟通策略，以便住宿导师在日常相处中敏锐感知学生的情绪波动，洞察其内心真实需求，以更科学、更温暖的方式陪伴学生成长。 

The operations and logistics teams had an equally full day. From coordinating large-scale student events to refining home-school communication strategies; from food safety and hygiene protocols to cross-departmental drills covering elevator rescue procedures and anti-intrusion response, every session was purposeful and practical. Together, these efforts reinforce the safety foundations of campus life, ensuring every student has a space where they feel secure, supported, and at home. 
行政与后勤团队同样收获满满。从大型活动的统筹组织到家校沟通的策略优化，从食品安全、消毒规范的专项培训到电梯困人救援、防暴演练等跨部门联合演练，各个环节环环相扣，既牢牢守住了校园安全的底线，也不断丰富着校园生活的生态，为每一位学子营造出一个安心、放心、开心的学习与生活环境。 

From sharper teaching in the classroom, to attentive care in the dorm, to safety across every corner of campus, this Professional Development Day reflected the unwavering dedication of every staff member at BBGM to the quality of education we provide. It is a shared belief that the growth of our students begins with our own. We keep striving. We keep growing. And we move forward, together. 
从课堂内的教学精进，到宿舍里的温情陪伴，再到校园每一个角落的安全守护，此次职业发展日所呈现的，是深贝外全体教职员工对教育品质矢志不渝的追求、是每一位教育者将师生关系和学生成长置于**的共同信念。精益求精，永无止境；携手同行，未来可期。 

Spring was in the air last Wednesday evening as the Boarding department hosted its first Rubik's Cube competition — a small but spirited event that turned an ordinary night into something memorable. 

三月的春意微卷，指尖的战鼓敲响。上周三，住宿部迎来了一场别开生面的小型智力比拼——首届住宿部魔方比赛在同学们的期待中拉开帷幕。 

A few cubes, a handful of competitors, and one simple table were all it took. Competitors showed what they were made of in a relaxed but focused atmosphere, where every twist and turn called for speed, skill, and patience in equal measure. 

几枚小小的魔方，一方简洁的比赛桌，几位热爱挑战的同学相聚于此，在轻松愉快的氛围里一展身手。色块翻转之间，既有速度与技巧的较量，也有思考与耐心的沉淀，让这个普通的夜晚多了几分灵动的气息。 

Before the start, the room buzzed with quiet anticipation — some fine-tuning their cubes, others running through algorithms under their breath, fingers poised and ready. The whistle blew, and the noise dropped away, leaving nothing but the crisp clicking of plastic. 

步入赛场，空气中涌动着跃跃欲试的热忱，选手们按分组依次就位，或低头调试魔方，或默念还原公式，指尖微动，蓄势待发。随着一声哨响，原本喧闹的空间瞬间静谧，只剩指尖与塑料碰撞发出的清脆声响。 

Each completed solve drew gasps and applause. Scores were logged, results announced, and the next round began almost immediately — brisk, well-organized, and full of both competitive energy and good cheer. As the rounds progressed, solves got sharper and faster, much to the delight of the growing crowd of spectators. 

每当一位选手完成还原，裁判便迅速记录成绩，现场也随即响起轻声的惊叹与掌声。统计员汇总成绩并公布晋级结果，新一轮比拼很快开始。节奏紧凑而有序，赛场上流淌着竞技的刺激，更洋溢着分享的快乐。比拼过程中，选手们的动作愈发熟练，节奏也更加稳定。短短几十秒内，魔方在他们手中一步步复原，颜色重新排列，结构逐渐完整。小小的魔方在指尖翻飞，也让围观的同学不时发出赞叹。

In the end, G9 Ryan C. took first place with a swift and consistent performance. G6 Ethan H. and G8 Eddie X. claimed second and third respectively. Mr. Dominic Maclean, Vice Director of Residential Program, presented the winners with prizes and congratulated all who took part. 

最终，G9 Ryan C. 凭借稳定而迅速的表现夺得本次比赛**，G6 Ethan H.与G8 Eddie X.分别获得亚军与季军。住宿部副总监Dominic Maclean为获奖同学颁发了精心准备的奖品，并对所有参赛选手的精彩表现表示祝贺。 

A small cube, it turns out, holds plenty of room for logic, creativity, and fun. We look forward to bringing more events like this — giving students space to unwind, explore their interests, and keep growing outside the classroom. 

一枚小小的魔方，蕴藏着丰富的变化；一次轻松的比赛，也凝聚着思考与智慧。在娱乐与交流之间，同学们不仅展示了自己的特长，也锻炼了逻辑思维与手眼协调能力。未来，住宿部还将继续策划更多丰富多彩的活动，让同学们在学习之余释放活力、探索兴趣，在一次次参与中不断成长。
