和煦冬日，暖阳正好，12月1日我校教职工职业发展培训在温馨的氛围中展开。各学部教师与管理团队精心准备的系列培训，为全体教职工提供了专业交流与智慧碰撞的宝贵平台。随后的团队建设活动中，学校大家庭通过轻松有趣的体育竞技，在欢笑与协作中增进了彼此的情谊，凝聚了团队的力量。

On a warm winter's day, December 1st, our school's faculty and staff professional development training commenced in a cozy atmosphere. The series of training sessions, meticulously prepared by faculty and management teams from various departments, provided a valuable platform for professional exchange and intellectual collaboration among all staff members. Following the training, team-building activities fostered camaraderie and strengthened team cohesion through relaxed and enjoyable sports competitions.

本次小学部低段培训聚焦教学工具升级、课程优化、互动提升与跨学科融合四大维度，为下半年教学注入新动力。针对二、三年级教师，培训系统讲解了作业管理、家校沟通与在线教学策略，助力构建统一数字化教学环境。课程设计环节以“高阶设计与长效规划”为重点，通过真实课例解析，帮助教师将长期目标融入日常教学，强化学段衔接与课堂实效。在互动策略方面，培训分享了多种“课堂热身活动”，以短时高效的方式激活学生思维，提升全程参与度。

Lower primary school training focused on four dimensions: upgrading teaching tools, optimizing curriculum, enhancing interaction, and integrating interdisciplinary learning, injecting new momentum into teaching in the second half of the year. For second and third grade teachers, the training systematically explained homework management, home-school communication, and online teaching strategies, helping to build a unified digital teaching environment. The curriculum design section emphasized "advanced design and long-term planning," using real-world lesson examples to help teachers integrate long-term goals into daily teaching, strengthening grade-level transitions and classroom effectiveness.Regarding interactive strategies, the training shared various "classroom warm-up activities" to activate student thinking and enhance overall participation in a short and efficient manner.

科技融合板块引导教师运用互动课件、实时反馈等数字工具，丰富教学形式，支持个性化学习。此外，培训深入探讨了在EL模块与Saxon数学中嵌入项目式学习（PBL）的方法，推动学科整合，培养学生跨学科应用知识的能力与自主学习意识。

The technology integration module guided teachers to use interactive courseware, real-time feedback, and other digital tools to enrich teaching methods and support personalized learning. Furthermore, the training explored in depth methods for embedding project-based learning (PBL) in EL Modules and Saxon Math units, promoting interdisciplinary integration and cultivating students' ability to apply knowledge across disciplines and their self-directed learning awareness.

小学高段学部在集体大会后开展了四个专题工作坊，均由一线教师自主设计与主讲，展现了我校教师团队的专业活力。

Following the general assembly, the upper primary held four thematic workshops, all designed and led by frontline teachers, showcasing the professional vitality of our school's teaching team.

Mr. Chris与Ms. Arleen以“如何向小学生讲授沉重话题”为主题，结合诗歌单元中离别与哀伤的内容，分享如何通过恰当引导帮助学生建立情感联结，在共情中培养心理韧性。Ms. Aoife与Mr. Wood以“构建快乐课堂”为重点，演示如何将短小而富有活力的体验活动融入教学，打造令人难忘的学习经历，点燃学生的探索热情。

Mr. Chris and Ms. Arleen presented on the theme of "Teaching Difficult Topics to Primary Students ," using the themes of parting and sorrow from the poetry unit as examples. They shared how to help students build emotional connections and cultivate resilience through empathy. Ms. Aoife and Mr. Wood focused on "Building a Joyful Classroom," demonstrating how to integrate short, engaging experiential activities into teaching to create memorable learning experiences and ignite students' passion for exploration.

科学教师Mr. Jordan深入解析“布鲁姆分类学与高阶思维”，提出通过为学习任务做“减法”提供支持、做“加法”增加挑战，实现因材施教，引导学生从记忆迈向分析、评价与创造的高阶思维。学生督导Ms. Rachel与班主任Ms. Xu则聚焦“积极行为干预与支持”，分享实用策略与方法，指导教师构建真诚的师生关系，洞察学生行为背后的动因，营造和谐积极的课堂生态，培养学生的责任意识与成长型思维。

Science teacher Mr. Jordan provided an in-depth analysis of "Bloom's Taxonomy and Higher-Order Thinking," proposing to provide support by "subtracting" from learning tasks and increase challenges by "adding" them, thereby achieving differentiated instruction and guiding students from memorization to higher-order thinking skills such as analysis, evaluation, and creation. Dean Ms. Rachel and homeroom teacher Ms. Xu focused on "Positive Behavior Intervention and Support," sharing practical strategies and methods to guide teachers in building genuine teacher-student relationships, understanding the motivations behind behaviors, creating a harmonious and positive classroom environment, and cultivating students' sense of responsibility and growth mindset.

为配合学校发展目标，中学部的培训通过专题工作坊的形式，围绕英语学习及教学策略、课堂管理及师生关系构建等主题展开，由教学管理团队、心理教师和英语组共同组织开展。

To align with the school's development goals, the upper school's training program was conducted through specialized workshops focusing on topics such as teaching strategies for English learners, classroom management, and teacher-student relationship building. These workshops were jointly led by the admin team, the school counselor, and the ELL group.

此次培训特别加强了在线教学能力的培养，以应对台风季可能出现的停课情况，保障教学连续性。此外，心理教师与学生督导共同组织了有关冲突解决与积极互动策略的专题讲座，旨在提升全学部教师针对学生问题应对能力。

This training specifically focused on developing online teaching skills to address potential class closures during typhoon season and ensure continuity of instruction. In addition, school counselors and student dean jointly organized a special lecture series on conflict resolution and positive interaction strategies, aiming to enhance the faculty's ability to address student issues.

在技术整合方面，教师们参与了由总校办Michael Davison先生主持的技术工作坊，学习运用Nearpod、Curipod等平台增强课堂参与度。各学科组随后就学术严谨性、数据分析、分层教学策略等议题进行了深入研讨。各年级组还分别召开会议，聚焦学生品格培养与行规管理，并分享了LiveSchool使用技巧，共同营造专注有序的学习环境。

Regarding technology integration, teachers participated in an engaging technology workshop  led by Mr. Michael Davison from the CEHOS office, learning to use platforms such as Nearpod and Curipo to enhance classroom engagement. Subject groups then held in-depth discussions on topics such as academic rigor, data analysis, and differentiated instruction strategies. Each grade level held separate meetings focusing on student character development and conduct management, sharing tips on using LiveSchool, and working together to create a focused and organized learning environment.

行政团队的培训以专题讲解与互动研讨为主，专注于提升个人能力和团队合作水平。行政团队邀请了高级校务长、采购组、校医室及招生部的同事为大家分享经验，四个培训主题涵盖了多个关键领域，让各位行政运营员工深入了解了不同部门的日常工作。通过对工作流程的梳理、案例分析以及解决方案的分享，大家能够将总结的经验和反思有效地运用到实际工作中，更好地支持教学，保障学校平稳运行。

The operations team training focused on enhancing individual capabilities and teamwork through specialized lectures and interactive workshops. The team invited Senior Head of Operations, purchase staff, school doctor, and admissions colleagues to share insights. Four training themes covered multiple critical areas, these topics provided operations staff with deep insights into the daily operations of different departments. Through workflow reviews, case studies, and solution sharing, participants gained practical experience and reflections that can be effectively applied to their daily work. This enables them to better support teaching and ensure the smooth operation of the school.

本次学校后勤部培训以"筑牢安全防线、提升专业能力、凝聚团队合力"为目标，分层开展针对性训练：餐厅组聚焦厨房燃气设备安全操作；安保组强化校园治安防范、消防处置与反恐应急处置能力；水电组重点培训设施安全巡检、故障排查及维修；保洁组优化卫生死角处理流程；救生员组开展应急救援实战演练；校车组在学部老师的协助下，结合案例精研行车安全与沟通技巧。通过团队协作与跨岗交流，本次培训有效打破岗位壁垒，全面提升后勤保障体系的协同效能。

This training session for the school's logistics department aims to “fortify safety defenses, enhance professional capabilities, and strengthen team cohesion.” It features tiered, targeted training: - The cafeteria team focuses on safe operation of kitchen gas equipment; - The security team reinforces campus security prevention, fire response, and counter-terrorism emergency handling capabilities; The Utilities Team emphasized facility safety inspections, fault diagnosis, and maintenance; the Cleaning Team optimized procedures for tackling hard-to-reach areas; the Lifeguard Team conducted practical emergency rescue drills; and the School Bus Team, with faculty assistance, studied driving safety and communication techniques through case studies. Through teamwork and cross-functional exchanges, this training effectively broke down departmental silos, comprehensively enhancing the collaborative efficiency of the logistics support system.

午后时光，全校老师带着饱满的热情进入团建活动环节，以欢快的“家庭竞答”破冰游戏为起点，各学部及行政后勤团队的全体老师混合编组，通力协作，在各类体育竞技中充分展现了团队精神、校园活力与真挚的伙伴情谊。

In the afternoon, all the teachers and staff entered the team building activities with great enthusiasm. Starting with a fun "family quiz" icebreaker game, all the teachers from various departments and the operation and logistics teams were mixed into groups and worked together to fully demonstrate team spirit, campus vitality and sincere camaraderie in various sports competitions.

本次培训深刻体现了学校对于教育事业精益求精的匠心与追求，一系列的课程与交流不仅增强了全校教职工的综合教学与管理能力，也进一步营造了协作共享、积极向上的校园文化。教育之路，我们始终携手同行。

This training profoundly reflects the school's dedication and pursuit of excellence in education. The series of courses and exchanges not only enhanced the comprehensive teaching and management capabilities of all faculty and staff but also further fostered a collaborative, collaborative, and positive campus culture. On the path of education, we will always walk hand in hand.

本周，我校G1-G3陆续开展了别开生面的年级集会。整场活动以“感恩”与“节约”为主线，通过富有仪式感的环节设计，引导孩子们在聆听、表达与互动中，理解尊重、学会感谢、养成节约好习惯。 

This week, lower Primary held a series of engaging grade-level assemblies for students in Grades 1–3. Centered around the themes of gratitude and conservation, the events guided students to understand respect, express thanks, and develop habits of saving—all through listening, sharing, and interactive participation. 

集会在轻松而庄重的氛围中开始。同学们首先共同学习了“尊重听众”的礼仪规范：端正坐姿、举手发言、安静聆听、适时鼓掌……这些细微之处，正是集体生活中彼此尊重的起点。随后，各年级的学生代表走上讲台，用真诚而充满童趣的语言分享自己的小故事，展现出自信表达的魅力。 

The assembly began in a spirit of quiet focus. Together, students reviewed etiquette for being a respectful audience: sitting properly, raising hands to speak, listening attentively, and applauding at the right moments. These small actions form the foundation of mutual respect in community life. Several students then took the stage to deliver short speeches, sharing their thoughts with sincerity and childlike charm, showcasing the confidence that comes from speaking from the heart. 

一段温馨的《收获与感恩》视频将集会推向情感的高潮。孩子们面对镜头，向父母、老师、食堂叔叔阿姨、保安伯伯等身边人表达纯真的谢意。每一句“谢谢”，不仅温暖了聆听者的心，也在孩子心中播下了感恩的种子。 

A heartfelt video titled Our Harvest and Gratitude deepened the emotional tone. In it, children expressed genuine thanks to their parents, teachers, cafeteria staff, security guards, and others who support them daily. Each “thank you” not only warmed the hearts of those who heard it but also planted seeds of gratitude in the speakers themselves. 

紧接着，食堂的大厨带着“餐桌上的温暖故事”来到孩子们中间。他从凌晨四点的备餐讲起，生动描述了食材从清洗、烹煮到分餐的“旅行”，以及餐后清洁消毒的繁琐流程。同学们听得入神，也逐渐明白了一餐一饭的来之不易。大厨适时发出倡议：轻声慢语显礼貌、按需取餐不浪费、光盘打卡我能行，邀请同学们一起践行文明就餐，珍惜每一份劳动成果。 

Chef Wang from the cafeteria then stepped forward to share “small warm stories from the dining table.” He described the early-morning journey of ingredients—from washing and cooking to serving—and explained the thorough cleaning and disinfecting process after each meal. Students listened intently, gradually realizing how much care and effort goes into every dish. Chef Wang also presented the Civilized Dining & Clean Plate Initiative, inviting everyone to join in: speak softly and show courtesy, take only what you need, and take pride in finishing your plate. 

集会的最后，高年级学生代表以“为什么食物浪费不好”为题，向大家介绍了节约粮食对环境与社会的意义，并发出 “光盘行动，从我做起” 的号召。整场活动在温暖而坚定的氛围中圆满结束，孩子们带着对感恩的理解与节约的决心，继续他们的成长之旅。 让我们在日常中学会感谢，在餐饮中践行节约，共同营造一个更有爱、更绿色的校园！ 

To close, student representatives spoke about “why food waste is harmful,” sharing insights into its environmental and social impacts. They encouraged everyone to participate in the Clean Plate Challenge, turning awareness into action. The assembly ended on a note of warmth and determination, sending our students forward with a deeper sense of gratitude and a shared commitment to saving food.  Let’s carry gratitude into our days and conservation onto our plates—and build a more caring, greener school together! 

这是小学合唱团俱乐部启程的第三年。得益于循序渐进的梯队训练，我们在曲目选择与排练中始终葆有盎然生机。今年，我们挑战了更具难度的两首作品：词为英国浪漫主义诗人威廉·布莱克的名篇《老虎》合唱曲，以及词为本杰明·富兰克林《智慧箴言》的同名合唱曲。

This is the third year since the primary school choir ASA was established. Thanks to the gradual and tiered training, we have always maintained a vibrant spirit in our repertoire selection and rehearsals. This year, we have taken on two more challenging pieces: a choral version of "Tiger" by the famous poem by the English Romantic poet William Blake, and a choral version of the same name by Benjamin Franklin, based on his "Words of Wisdom".

《智慧箴言》由现代作曲家取材于本杰明·富兰克林《穷理查年鉴》中的格言警句，旋律简洁却层次分明，歌词充满睿智与幽默，引导孩子们在歌声中体会“勤奋”“节俭”“诚实”等美德，与《老虎》的磅礴神秘形成鲜明对照。

"Words of Wisdom" is a song composed by a modern composer based on proverbs and maxims from Benjamin Franklin's "Poor Richard's Almanac". The melody is simple yet layered, and the lyrics are full of wisdom and humor, guiding children to experience virtues such as "diligence", "frugality" and "honesty" through the song, which contrasts sharply with the grand and mysterious "Tiger".

谈及《老虎》，它恰好呼应了我们的吉祥物。当孩子们唱出“Tyger Tyger, burning bright...”，铿锵的节奏与连串反问，让森林之火在脚力里腾跃；而“什么样非凡的手和眼睛，能塑造你一身惊人的对称？”则把布莱克对创造力与宇宙秩序的惊叹，化作童声里最耀眼的火花。借由这两首歌，我们不仅触摸文学与音乐交汇的艺术之美，也在“小虎”精神与智慧箴言的映照下，学会勇敢、审慎与思考。

Speaking of "Tiger," it perfectly echoes our mascot. When children sing "Tyger Tyger, burning bright...", the resounding rhythm and a series of rhetorical questions make the forest fire leap with their feet; while "What extraordinary hands and eyes could have sculpted your amazing symmetry?" transforms Blake's wonder at creativity and the order of the universe into the most dazzling spark in children's voices. Through these two songs, we not only touch the artistic beauty where literature and music intersect, but also learn courage, prudence, and reflection under the reflection of the "Little Tiger" spirit and wise words.

在“奇想成真”主题单元里，幼儿园的小虎们化身为故事小达人！本周他们创造了充满奇趣的社区故事：消防局、学校、医院……这些熟悉的场景都成了他们故事里的奇妙舞台。

Our tigers are exploring story elements as part of our unit on Fantasy vs. Reality. This week, they were challenged to create their own story settings that include familiar community places such as fire stations, schools, hospitals, banks, and police stations. 

为了让这些场景更为生动，在艺术课上孩子们跟着艺术老师一起玩转形状魔法！他们先用彩笔画出梦想中的场景，再用彩泥捏出立体的建筑。最让人惊喜的是，小朋友们还设计了各种彩色形状装饰故事场景，在玩闹中认识了图形，也学会了理解故事里的小主角。

To bring these settings to life, students used their prior knowledge of 2D shapes and incorporated art design ideas from our art teacher. They then elevated their work by using modeling clay to transform their 2D drawings into 3D designs. The learning continued as children explored shapes further and moved into understanding characters, designing colorful 2D shapes to add to their story settings.  

中文课上，孩子们继续畅游在《西游记》的奇幻文学世界里，深化对中国文化的理解、加强文化鉴赏能力。最开心的是手工时间！看，彩纸和吸管在小朋友手中变成了孙悟空的金箍棒，普通的纸张变成了唐僧帽。当孩子们戴上自己做的头饰，立马变成了取经四人组：坚定的唐僧、机灵的孙悟空、贪吃的猪八戒、憨厚的沙和尚。

In Chinese class, students are continuing their journey through classic literature by reading Journey to the West in both languages, deepening their comprehension and cultural appreciation. Building on this, the children are now bringing the beloved tale’s characters to life. They have crafted Sun Wukong’s golden hoop staff and fashioned Tang Seng’s hat from paper. Through lively role-play, they step into the roles of the determined Monk, the clever Monkey King, the greedy Pig, and the loyal Friar Sand.  

这种沉浸式的过程让他们能够深刻理解每个角色的特点和关系，将艺术创作与戏剧性叙事相互联系起来。这是一种将文学探索与动手表达相结合的有趣方式，同时也增强了孩子们的理解力和创作自信。

This immersive process allows them to deeply understand each character’s traits and relationships, seamlessly blending their artistic creations with dramatic storytelling. It is a joyful way to connect literary exploration with hands-on expression, reinforcing both comprehension and creative confidence.
