In our recent Grade 1 Humanities unit, our students transformed into “sky detectives,” embarking on an exciting exploration of the patterns above us. Through careful observation, interactive models, and engaging stories, they uncovered the sun’s reliable journey from east to west, learning the consistent cycle of day and night. They traced the moon’s slow path across weeks, discovering the repeating sequence of its phases. They even observed the constellations, realizing that even distant stars follow steady paths across the night sky.

Later, the students stepped into our observatory, where the vast and abstract cosmos became a visible, tangible world of wonder. Beneath the dome, wide-eyed and whispering, they gazed at constellations gradually illuminating the simulated night sky—each star a familiar point of light in a timeless story.

小虎们跃跃欲试，用 Hα色球太阳望远镜观测了太阳，当他们找到一个个“小黑点”（太阳黑子）时都发出了惊叹，争先用双眼记录这神奇的景象。活动尾声，老师向小虎们展示了夜间用学校天文望远镜拍摄记录的月球图像，通过穹顶投影的展示，月球表面的细节都看得一清二楚。本次观测活动让小虎们对月亮和太阳都有了更直观的认识。

Eager to explore further, our young astronomers took turns using the H-alpha solar telescope to observe the sun. Their excited whispers turned into soft gasps as they spotted dark sunspots—each a tiny marvel witnessed firsthand. To conclude, the teacher projected high-resolution images of the moon, captured by our school’s nighttime telescope, onto the dome. Seeing the lunar surface in such clear detail helped students gain an even more intuitive understanding of both the moon and the sun.

During the exploration of lunar phases, our young scholars turned abstract concepts into a ‘delicious’, hands-on adventure. Through stories and models, they learned the moon’s cycle from thin crescent to glowing full circle. The highlight-a “sweet creation” activity where students used Oreo cookies to sculpt each moon phase—carefully twisting and scraping the cream to mimic the play of light and shadow. This fun, tactile experience not only deepened their understanding but also showed that science can be both engaging and tasty!

The course transformed the coordinate system into a virtual "battlefield," where students needed to draw lines on a plane based on functions to accurately locate and "hit" randomly distributed monster coordinate points.

老师首先系统讲解了一次函数方程与直线图像之间的对应关系，并引导学生从函数表达式推导出坐标、绘制直线。随后，学生分组协作，每组拿到一张布满小怪物标记的坐标地图和若干一次函数方程，他们需要准确绘制出对应直线，并判断直线是否穿过“小怪物”所在位置，以此完成“追击”任务。

The teacher first systematically explained the correspondence between linear function equations and line graphs, and guided students to derive coordinates and draw lines from function expressions. Then, students worked in groups, each receiving a coordinate map covered with small monster marks and several linear function equations. They needed to accurately draw the corresponding lines and determine whether the lines passed through the locations of the "monsters," thus completing the "chase" task.

In a literary experience activity during English class, a mock election based on a literary work allowed students to personally experience the multidimensional collision of humanity and choices within the story. This activity began with Chinua Achebe's short story, guiding students to delve deeper into the text and appreciate its rich portrayal of humanity and narrative tension. The class was designed around the core themes of "persuasion, choice, and responsibility," creating a literary practice lesson that was both thought-provoking and engaging.
